A Semiconductor Manufacturing Plant in Suzhou
As a supplier of environmentally friendly energy, it mainly produces monocrystalline silicon wafers, the raw material for photovoltaic power generation. A large number of non-linear loads — slicing machines — in the slicing workshop have caused severe harmonic distortion problems in the 400 V power supply system. The poor power quality will affect the service life of the slicing machines, lead to inaccurate manufacturing precision, seriously reduce the product process yield, and increase manufacturing costs as well as additional energy losses.

The recommended solution is to install two sets of NCSF 5th Harmonic Filters, which can reduce the voltage distortion rate of the power supply system, effectively improve the power quality of the slicing workshop, resolve the operation issues of the slicing machines, and enhance the product process yield.
Key Features of NCSF Harmonic Filter
- Significantly improves the harmonic current content and harmonic voltage distortion rate of the system
- Achieves an improvement effect of over 80% for targeted specific harmonics
- Compensates for the system's reactive power and improves the power factor
- Effectively reduces harmonic losses in the system

Since the harmonic filters were put into operation on May 4, 2011, they have significantly mitigated the 5th harmonic currents of the system. The power quality measurement data of the system main circuit before and after the improvement are summarized in Table 1.
